Towers/Masts and Structures

Towers/Masts and Structures

We offer the full package when it comes to erecting or de-commissioning telecom structures. Normally access for craneage is provided by the principle contractor however we can survey such eventuality if temporary access (i.e. Trackway, Type 1 compact road) is required.

All our crews are slinger/signaller trained and CRI can also provide a Crane Appointed person or the PC can provide a contract lift where we shall sling the tower and erect or dismantle any size or shape tower. CRI riggers are Latchway/Railock approved. Where cranes are restricted, CRI can hand build sites piecemeal. We have a purpose designed 12m Derrick Pole specifically for small to medium size towers, which has a reach of 10 meters and can lift panels at a time up to 1000kg SWL, (price on application).

Larger Alphaman Derricks available for larger structures.

We can also remove towers from site and deliver to designated drop off or scrap as required to EU regulations.

Ancillary Steelwork and design

Ancillary Steelwork Design, Supply & Install

Supply and Install Such a simple task of mounting steel can become an expensive exercise for the client. We do not believe this needs to be the case. We have a wide range of universal antenna pole mounts, delta frames and rocket head frames already designed.

If the client can provide us with a mid pole height with leg size (CHS/Angle- on a rake?) We can provide steel and labour to suit at short notice. If however the leg size or often space on the tower is unknown, we can survey the site at short notice, often within 48 hours to provide a practical solution. We carry most pole mounts in stock. However, if you require some thing more bespoke, CRI have an excellent partnership with a steel fabricator in Sheffield who can fabricate designs and hot dip galvanise the finish in quick time.

Rooftop Installations and Stub Masts

No two rooftops are ever the same therefore attention to detail is paramount. An in depth survey of a rooftop installation is carried out before installation. CRI can also design a planned route for the feeder and install the feeder tray/ladder to a high standard integrating it into the existing LP system.

CRI will also land any stub mast onto the roof and carry out all the slinging of the structure.

24-Hour Call Out

24-Hour Call Out

As we all know the weather is so unpredictable in the UK. Sites can go off air from time to time due to inclement weather. The operator at the NMC sees warning lights on a screen but cannot fully ascertain as to why a site may have gone down. We can respond at a level of notice to attend site with experience personnel and examine why the site may have gone off air. We carry a running amount of stock within the vans in an attempt to fix a problem with a replacement. More often than not the site may have water ingression and needs cleaning. Maybe a feeder is damaged by falling debris or ice. We can carry out a full systems test and then examine the problem. We would pick up antennas and amplifiers from a designated point if need be to swap out a faulty unit all within the call-out rate.
